DH uses it to make seltzer. I usually mix the seltzer with a little fruit juice. I don't really like the syrups too much as they're a little sweet. I used to like the orange flavor but would only put in at most half of what it calls for. We only do sparkling water though and none of the syrups. It's definitely a money saver and better for the environment. </p> <p>However, I wish I had known a bit more about the politics of it before purchasing one. I think there may have been something wrong with your machine. Ours takes 1.5 pumps to get it WAY carbonated when the canister is new, and maybe 2.5-3 pumps when it is near the end. I've tried a ton of flavors and haven't noticed much of a difference in taste. The only noticeable one was rot beer. So I need to come up with a gift, and quick!!</p> <p>The other day he asked me what I thought about getting a Sodastream, and my kneejerk reaction was "no way, that's unnecessary, we have enough kitchen stuff in our little kitchen..." but now that I'm struggling with what to get him I'm reconsidering....It's not the most romantic gift, but dh is a big foodie so anything for the kitchen makes him very happy! And it's a little better than some of the other ideas I have for him (like, new workout clothes? that seems lamer...)</p> <p>Does anyone have one? Do you like it? Is it useful or fun? Or is it just easier or cheaper to buy seltzer? </p>
