I'm planning to get this if/when we have another. What I really love about it is that it has the "effect" of a co-sleeper but the safety of a crib. LO slept in a RnP a lot as a newborn and first of all, it's not really approved for nighttime sleep, and secondly it was a pain to transition her to a crib since she was used to the cuddly inclined RnP.

we were really happy with the arms reach mini arc cosleeper. Since the legs adjust on all 4, you could theoretically make two higher than the other to incline.
It rolls around, the sides are high and the weight limit is great. We used it till 4 months but really could have used it a ton longer.
The mini is nice because you don't have to buy the leg extenders; they are built in. It also can break down pretty flat. We actually still have it set up at 9 months because it contains the laundry and crap in our room. and 20% off at BBB
I found the RnP to be super annoying; she was so low to the ground, was all squished up when she was tiny. It was annoying to have to get out of bed.

@ShootingStar: I thought I wanted the halo too until I saw it in real life and its so big! I didn't think it was going to be so hard to find little basinette for beside our bed...

@ksnow: I think we're going to go with the pared down version. I don't see myself using the light or vibration since we never used those features on the PnP. We used the PnP in the newborn days with LO1 because he hated the RnP and it just didn't cut it to me. For this baby I really want something I can get the baby super close to the bed in so that night wakeups are easier. The PnP is just too big and doesn't move out of the way easily.

@ShootingStar: Did you decide yet? I'm considering one of these for our second as well, butttt we have a PNP with a newborn napper/diaper changing station so it seems very indulgent. I'd love to be able to grab baby without standing up, not scoot when I need to get out of bed, and rest a hand on baby/see baby easier...

I've been watching craigslist but everyone lists them so pricey when I compare new Amazon with a registry completion discount.

Following! I'm debating between this and the simpler, cheaper fisher price bassinet. This is my first, I have no idea if i'll have a c-section, and it's hard to know what we'll really need until there's an actual baby in our house. So it's hard to justify the cost if it's not as useful for us. I like the portability of the FP bassinet (I could see us bringing it to grandma's house this summer) as well as the price tag.

This thread only made me more indecisive though :silly:

@ohemgee: I have the 4moms breeze also and if I'm not gifted this bassinet, that's what we plan on using for DD. DS slept in it okay, and we traveled in it a lot, but it's bulky and super heavy!

We bought it for LO#2 who is due to arrive in a few weeks. I'm having a csection and figured it would be perfect. I was turned off by the price but after looking on Craigslist for two days, found one that was barely used for under $100! I'd suggest looking on your local forums, I now see them posted almost weekly.

I want to buy this too but its so expensive. Too bad you are not out in CA. Two moms are selling it on Facebook for around $115 with sheets. My husband is against having another bassinet because our daughter refused to sleep on top of the 4moms breeze removable bassinet.

@RKitty: the heaviness would also be a plus with a toddler I'm guessing! (As someone whose toddler has nearly toppled an empty rnp today).

If it had been out when I had my first baby I probably would have spent the money. But since I had so much gear already and this is most likely our last, I didn't.

I'm debating getting on myself, the cost is the only thing really keeping me from it. So I'm watching this thread!

One review I read mentioned liked it because it's so heavy large dogs can't knock it over and as we have a 90lb and 60lb dog so it was big perk for me. Plus cats who probably don't have enough weight to knock it over but you know cats...

@ShootingStar: yes! We do! We thought it was too $$ also and bought some cheaper thing at first. Then we brought home a baby who LOVED to be vibrating. I didn't want him to sleep overnight in a bouncer or rock and play so we caved and got the halo. Absolutely recommend. He started sleeping 3-4 hour stretches as soon as we got it at two weeks old! Love love love it.

Interesting feedback! So I don't need it to move, it'll just stay in our bedroom and the swiveling should be sufficient. We have other "baby containers" that I can use throughout the house (RNP, 2 bouncers, swing). It's a little pricey, but we'll use a BBB coupon on it and get it for $160 (and no sales tax). And it's one of the very few things I want to get for #2.

This time I just really really want something that will make sleep and feedings easier. I was looking at renting this fancy bassinet thing that side cars to the bed, but there have been some safety concerns pop up with it, so that's out.

Yes. I had one for my second. I liked it because it has the mesh so you can see your baby and vice versa, but I didn't use the swivel that much because our bed is high and it wasn't tall enough to swivel over my thighs when I was sitting up. but it definitely weighs a ton and it really isn't portable. The push down side made it a little easier to get her in and out but it needs to be pushed down pretty hard (for safety reasons) so it wasn't super useful. They also grow out of it really quickly, around 5 months and she started to get too big for it. And if you live in a small apartment, it is tough and clunky to store. So I guess if you get it as a gift, then it's great but I don't know if I would spend $200 on it myself.

I have a PnP, but registered for this recently because of its compactness and maneuverability. The mattress seemed super cushy/comfy compared to that of a PnP! Hoping this will help DD transition and stay in her own crib afterwards unlike DS. *fingers crossed*

I wanted this but didn't want to pay that much at this point. But I talked to friends who have it and like it. The con is its really heavy and you definitely couldn't move it around like you would a pnp or rnp. I knew I was unlikely to have a c section but if I did I probably would have splurged.

I'd really like to get a new bassinet for LO2. We co slept a lot with DS, which I didn't love because I was afraid to move all night. I couldn't roll over and sometimes I fell asleep nursing and it was really tough to get up and put him back in the PnP. Plus, when I nursed on the outside side, it was scary if I fell asleep because I didn't want him to roll off the side.

So anyways, I'd like something that's really good for supporting breastfeeding and makes it easy to get baby in and out of, and is close enough to the baby to feel like co-sleeping, without the dangers of it.

Right now it seems like the best option is the Halo Bassinest. I like that the height is super adjustable, and that it swivels. I'll likely have a repeat c-section, so easy maneuverability is a big plus. Does anyone have this and have any feedback on it? Or any other suggestions?
