@2littlepumpkins: DD is actually a little shortie! Just 23.5" at her four month appointment last month.

We ended up going with a small. She has three inches left in the length on a small. Even if she goes a little above her curve, she won't grow another three inches until the end of March. That should be enough to get through the winter weight temperature range.

I would go larger personally only because my kids always grow out of the height first. The cotton ones definitely shrink and I think the fleece ones do too but not as drastically. This thread is making me realize how huge my ds already is. I'd say he close to 15 lbs at 3 months.. And outgrowing small height wise.

@Ms. RV: The problem is she's tall and skinny. So her shoulders and chest are pretty narrow. But she's still swimming in the medium.

The medium is huge! LO fits both but I have concerns about the medium riding up around her face when there's no swaddle to hold it in place.

We always went bigger on the size because we used the sleepsack swaddle (swaddled arms out after 4 months I think) so we could tighten it up that way. Got more use out of it!

I was worried about the same thing, that she would slip into the bag if it were too big. However, too many factors would have to align for it to happen. The fleece is kid of sticky to her pajamas too, so it's not going anywhere. I highly recommend the bigger one. I also think the length suggestions on them are a bit too short.

I don't think so. When I pulled the medium out I was like "gosh this is huge" but every time I zip her up I have to work a bit to pull her arms all the way out (they get stuck if her elbow is slightly flexed) so I don't know how she'd be able to pull her arms (or her head) back in. I had all of your concerns and I'm super happy with the medium. Heck with her small size my lo might still be in the medium next fall!!

@kick641: Thanks for your reply! LO was 23.5 inches at her 4 month appointment (fairly short for her age) but I can't tell if she has grown in length since then or not :(

@Littlebit7: Do you think there is any risk in a LO pulling their arms and head in if she's a little too small for a medium? She is 2.5" shorter than the max height for small, but I feel like her toes almost touch the bottom. I think I might be better with a medium...

I do. She's napping now but will try. Fwiw I found it is the length of the baby more than the weight that made the difference. My LO is thin and long and is in the medium now but only 16# at 9 months. She's almost 28 inches long It looks big on her but she sleeps just fine.

@Ms. RV: I have just ordered the medium size of sleepsack for my almost 8 month old because she's outgrown the small. I would say she's between 16 and 17 pounds and a little less than average height for her age. I can try to measure her when I get home. Her feet are pushing up against the bottom of the sack and she's unhappy about it. If you haven't received any pictures by the time I get my sleepsack I'll post pictures then!

...And would be willing to take a picture of the two together so I could look at the difference? I need to get a winter weight one and unsure of the size to get. DD will hit the bottom end of the size medium range in a month but will take a while to grow out of the small range. Winter will last for at least three more months and I really only rather buy one winter weight sleep sack!
