I have one, before I was KU I would do intervals on it...3-4 min of running and 1-2 min walking. Now that I'm almost 34 weeks, I'll still do intervals, but just walking or walking slower. Or I will do a gradual hill, adding a little more incline at a time. I love a treadmill compared to running outside, we have a TV in front of it so I reward myself with a favorite show for actually working out.

I have one, but much prefer running outside. The best thing about them is you can really challenge yourself with speed and incline!

I love a treadmill for the winter months. It'd be great with LOs too for the days you just can't get out on your own or to the gym.

Pre-pregnancy I did a lot of interval training on it. It always felt amazing and really helped my time with my longer runs.

I used to before I got pregnant. I would usually run four days a week and alternate between longer runs (around 3 miles) at a consistent speed around 6 mph and interval training. When I interval train what I do is I will split each minute between walking and running (50second running, 10 seconds walking, 40seconds running, 20 second walking, etc) and the shorter the running portion the higher I up the speed so by the time that I'm running only ten seconds I'm up around 11 mph. And then I work back down.

Lucky! I used to run on the treadmill pre=baby when I had a gym membership.

I used to use it for running. But, I haven't touched it since BFP. Our basement isn't finished and all of our gym equip is down there... we've been taking walks outdoors, so I probably won't use it again until next winter, post-labor!

I don't. But I wish I had one, I think I'd be more likely to do it if I can sit in front of my tv.

Treadmills are nice for control, though I like going outside for the change of scenery!

HIIT makes for a great cardio workout (High Intensity Interval Training). Basically you alternate speed/intensity between light for a longer length of time, and super intense/fast for a shorter length of time.

ETA: Weight lifting is way more fun than pretty much any of the cardio I've done. I think it's also a good way to stay in shape later on in pregnancy, when it's hard to move the body quickly. Weight training is all about controlled movement.

Yup, I do...I used to run about 2-3 miles on it, but now I'm walking briskly (at 4.3 speed and 3.5 incline) for about 15-20 minutes, and jogging (at 5.8-6.0 speed) for about 5 minutes. Anything longer than that and I feel my belly starting to bounce uncomfortably! It definitely gets boring, but if you can set a tv up or have good playlists going, it's not so bad.

It routinely gets used as an awesome place to drape clothes over before going to bed.

:)

I used it for a while when I was doing C25k, then I got bored with it (like all exercise). I may end up using it again when the baby is out. We'll see.

My in-laws recently gave us their old treadmill and I'm kind of excited! I know that I don't do well with "going to the gym" so I'm glad I have this thing to motivate me to be a bit more active.

Does anyone use a treadmill? What kind of routine do you have on it?
