I find it much easier to scroll that way. It's basically a tablet-like feature on the laptop. It’s a medical clinic and we have online charting so I find it’s perfect to write notes and do files while I’m with clients, as well as to quickly look things up. However, for sending detailed emails, writing letters, and any heavy word processing stuff, I use the desktop computer all staff has access to. Since our files are online we have it all synced so can access it from anywhere. If I were you I would totally use a tablet in class with some sort of cloud or other based app for notes and keep your desktop for heavier writing and whatnot. It works super well for me. I would do a regular sized iPad though if you have a choice. I find the mini great but my male coworkers have trouble with the tiny keyboard. I’m considering getting a small laptop or a tablet with keyboard so that I don’t have to be chained to my desk all the time. So tell me about using a tablet as a laptop, or if you think a laptop is still preferable to a tablet. Ideally, I would be able to switch relatively seamlessly between the desktop and the portable device for watching lectures, reading the material, researching and writing. </p>
