I registered for one. we have a cushy one that I got used, and we'll probably start with the breathable until I'm okay with knowing she can roll where she wants to!

We have had one on from day one. With the sleep sac I don't think she can really get stuck but there is no way if put a regular one on. She loves to sleep curled up with her face on the wall.

Thirteen months with no bumpers...it took LO a couple of weeks to not stick his legs through but now he moves all over with no problems.

@mrs. wagon: yeah, the LO loves to snuggle up against it so it is kind of like a lovey. I wish it did stay in place better. Having to always fix it isn't great. DD did that rocking/banging thing, too. It was so scary but I read that they don't have enough strength to really injure themselves so that made me feel better.

We use breathable bumpers. They work well for us... except now she loves to pull them down and play with them.

We put in the thick cushiony bumpers because LO would get stuck with her head in a corner or something. Recently, we took off the bumper that faces the door because when LO woke up, she would use it as leverage to sit/stand (even in her sleep sack!). But we still have the bumpers on the other three sides because she doesn't climb those sides.

at this point we dont have any bumper at all in the crib.. once the baby arrives we will see how it goes. If a breathable mesh bumper is needed down the road we will consider it but I'm hoping to get away without using a bumper at all. Only time will tell

@Andrea: haha us too, for every bit of your comment ;) He likes to sleep with his feet propped up on top of the bumper. Every morning we wake up and have to slide the bumpers back up because he's pushed them all down. Weirdo.

This comment made me remember that Wagon Jr. used to head-rock and hit his head over and over again on the crib slats. It made us want to get a regular bumper so the bumps would be less harsh (the breathable bumper is just thin cloth) but he grew out of the rocking.

after she started rolling we tried to survive without buying them, but after a few months of her waking screaming like something was horribly wrong we gave in. A breathable bumper was a necessity.

I still have a breathable bumper on my 2 yo's crib. Lol. I guess I can switch to a regular one but I don't have one anyway. We will probably transition her to a toddler bed soon anyway.

Yes we have the breathable bumper on her crib bc she moves around a lot in her sleep. I don't love the way it looks but I'm going to keep it on until she is over a year..then I'll probably put on the pretty bumper that we bought with her bedding set.

I haven't put any bumpers on the younger one's crib. The sleep sack seems to help prevent her legs getting caught. She does hit her head from time to time but I guess it doesn't bother her. Or maybe it does since she wakes once a night. Hmm.

Yes, from very early on Cam has been able to squirm around his crib and get stuck. The breathable bumpers have solved that concern. I still find him clear on the other end of the crib in the mornings.

We had to put breathable bumpers on Olive's crib recently because she's been rolling around so much and waking up when her legs get caught in the crib slats.

So far so good... her sleep has definitely improved since putting them on! Well her sleep was bad because she was getting stuck, so now it's back to where it was before she started rolling.

Do you use breathable bumpers or any other type of bumpers?
