@Mrs. Jacks: I just got a physical a little while ago, and will go back soon for a followup!

I caught a bad cold from the kids last week, which triggered the nausea-while-cooking... now that the cold is fading, hopefully the nausea will fade soon! If not, I'll definitely see the doctor again...

Mr Bee: have you been seen by your care provider recently? I'm worried about your tummy troubles and I think you guys do a paleo diet. Its worth getting checked out to make sure everything is in balance.

YES! All the time.
Sometimes if I'm hungry, I have to have something small to eat before I start cooking or else I'll feel really sick and won't eat afterwards.

Yes, but only since I've been pregnant! I cannot handle looking at raw chicken, and haven't been able to cook it or eat it at home! If someone else prepares it, it's somehow easier, but not always.

Are you pregnant @mrbee: ? ;) That was an issue for my entire pregnancy! My husband lost 25 pounds when I was pregnant, he ate salads since I quit cooking. He also started grilling outside since the smell of meat cooking sent me running for the bathroom!

Yesss. Not just everyday meals though, but if I have something in the crockpot and I smell it all day I can't eat it!

Not really -- it only suppresses my appetite if I do a lot of tasting of what I'm cooking (like cookie dough, yumm...) I actually like to drink wine while I'm cooking so I'm usually pretty happy haha. I think I got that from my mom...

Cooking no, but baking yes. It's mainly the smell of the item actually baking that gets me. Though batter makes me gag. And I love baked goods. Just ones that someone else bakes in their own house, I guess.

Oh wow! The only time I became nauseated was when I removed all of the skin from the turkey to put it in the crock pot for Thanksgiving. Disgusting.

Have you narrowed down possible triggers- ingredients, spices, or actual cooking methods?

It definitely makes me less hungry, but never nauseated.

We had 20 people over for Indian food for Mr. P's birthday and after cooking all day I didn't end up eating any of it.

It can. I don't like the look or feel of raw meat (especially chicken), and if I think too much about what I'm doing I get queasy. By the time I finish cooking and plating my appetite returns.

Cooking makes me nauseated, which suppresses my appetite... since I've started cooking more, I've actually lost 5 pounds.

It gets especially bad when I'm sick though... yesterday after I cooked, I got so nauseated I had to lie down. Thought it was just standing up, but then it happened again after breakfast this morning.
