The worst is when I started teaching and had to give chalk talks so I'd try to write and talk at the same time. It was a little embarrassing to realize how many spelling mistakes I make when my mind is not focused. Not sure why, since I've been a big reader ever since I learned how. We would have mock spelling bees in English class and everyone thought I was pretending to be a terrible speller and throwing out weird letters on purpose. Nope. Then all those red squiggles in Firefox and Chrome made me realize that I suck at spelling. I've gotten better, but I still get regularly amazed at how many typos I make.</p> <p>I think this post is OK though.
