He sucked his fingers nonstop for self-soothing, and we didn't try to stop him. She found her hands around 5 weeks and got REALLY SERIOUS about them around 9 weeks. Occasionally she'll stick a few fingers in her mouth (usually thumb and forefinger at the same time) but she almost never just sucks on her thumb. Last night we fought over me trying to pop a pacifier in his mouth so he wouldn't gnaw off his fist. Does this usually lead to thumb-sucking? Just wondering if it's inevitable and my efforts are all for naught.
