The way we parent now is so huge. Everything matters, from the way we treat them and take care of them, to the food we feed them, to the exercise and adventures they get. I work in early childhood mental health and the experiences and relationships that kids have in their very early years have significant impacts down the road. Its kind of amazing that our LO's won't remember these years, but if we are not good parents; they will be...well, sort of messed up for life. Sometimes I love that my little nieces and nephews won't remember stuff though because to them their aunty has always lived overseas whereas my eight-year-old niece remembers all the time I used to spend with her before I moved and it makes her sad.
