I'm sorry, that sucks. For us, regular procedures have gotten easier, but pain is never easy to accept for anyone!

It sucks and it's not fair. Someday she'll understand you were doing the best you could for her, that's what I always tell myself :goodluck:

LO is 18 months. He has had three surgeries and countless visits with various specialists. We travel to a large children's hospital three hours away for a lot of his care. A few weeks ago LO had to go for a sedated hearing test so that was his fourth time with anesthesia also. He was anxious from the moment he walked in the door at the Ronald McDonald House. He goes for another check up there at the beginning of December. My plan is to give him a few of his stocking stuffers to distract him/make the trip more fun. It was definitely difficult taking our tiny baby to all those appointments, but yes I feel it's definitely gotten harder as he's gotten older. He signs go and waves goodbye and it's harder and harder to distract him!

That's a very long response to say that I understand what you're going through.

My LO has been under anesthesia 4 times in her short 3 years. This doesn't include the local anesthesia used for certain tests. We just got a call that our GI''s office that they want her to get another scope done, even though we thought we were done and they haven't seen her in over a year. We are going to discuss with our pediatrician if she thinks it's necessary but I started to cry. She's older know, she knows what is happening and I just hate to see her so upset. It's so unfair for her to deal with. I'm sure I know the answer to my own question, but does it every get easier? I feel like it gets harder with age.
