I agree it's trendy, and not for an interview or professional setting. We have professional dress, and are in a very conservative office downtown DC where politics reign supreme. I wouldn't wear it to work.

Unless the job has to do with art/fashion/etc. I wouldn't wear it to the interview.

i agree with PP. i wouldn't wear it to an interview, but depending on the culture and your style, I think it's fine to wear to the office. i work in the financial services industry, and I'd probably rock it!

Not for an interview, but I would wear it after being hired. I work in a VERY professional environment and I would wear it. But I think it would be a negative impression when interviewing, I'd go buy a black standard blazer for interviewing.

Not for an interview, but maybe at work depending on the culture of the office. My rule is to always dress more formally than you think the culture will be.

I was job hunting postpartum and invested in a new suit- it was well worth the money spent in order to advance my career. What really threw me off was the one potential employer who had the recruiter tell me specifically not to wear a suit. Fortunately I had a dress from my son's Baptism but there are really not that many options when you have a 3 month old!

I would wait if you have any doubt. It sounds like it would work well for an interview in my office but we have a lot of creative and marketing people in a very casual office. It's just so hard to tell before the interview.

It depends on the professional setting and the context. What industry? ETA: I agree with others that probably not in an interview unless in a very creative field where looking fashionable is part of the job.

I would not recommend wearing a jacket with leather sleeves to an interview. Can't think of any circumstances for which it would be appropriate.

I am wondering if leather in an outfit looks too trendy and casual versus professional. I have a blazer that fits well, but has leather sleeves. I have gotten many compliments on it, but am job hunting and wondering if it seems too casual. I don't have many blazers that fit me right now post-partum.

Thoughts?
