My son is 4 and he still needs more sleep on the weekends. He doesn't nap at school (but I wish he did) and we make him nap at least one day of the weekend if not both. I would let your LO sleep!

I wish DS would sleep in on the weekends!

I'd do the same as you, she is obviously tired.

My LO is in daycare 7:30-5:30 and we usually play outside until 6:30. She sleeps the same amount or less on the weekends. If she wanted to sleep longer I would definitely let her. You can take my LO to the 5k.

My 14-month old son always sleeps much more on the weekends! He usually sleeps in about an hour later than on weekdays and naps are significantly longer!

ETA: I never wake him up from sleeping/naps unless it will interfere with bedtime if I don't

I never wake up my kids on the weekend, but the latest they sleep is about 7:30.

We have tremendously long days (by baby standards) during the week. She's in care 7am-6pm 5 days a week.

On weekends I let her sleep in as late as she wants and nap as long as she wants. Her mood is fine when she is awake, but she must be tired because she sleeps a ton on the weekends.

We don't really do any scheduled activities on the weekend (except for church) because I don't want to drag her out of bed in the morning or sabotoge her naps.

I'm getting a little more flexible on this stance as she gets older (now almost 2.5) but I'm just curious how you handle weekend sleep when your LO has very long week days.

I was going to bring her with me to a 5k this weekend but decided against it because I have to be up before 6am and she needs the rest, I feel.

What are your feelings on this topic?
