He has a basket that has several extra pairs of pants, underwear, socks, a spare shirt, and a spare pair of shoes. They also have spare clothes if he runs out (he's recently transitioned to wearing underwear almost full time at school, save for naps when he wears a pull-up), hence all the extra clothes.

We always send extras but once or twice she went through those and came home in their spare stuff. I also recall that when I was in elementary school (public school) being aware that they had spare clothes in the clinic for kids who had a need.

I always send an extra outfit (leggings, top, undies, socks), but recently she came home in random leggings and socks because she splashed in a puddle. I asked her why she didn't go to her extra clothes bag and she said the teacher gave clothes to another kid and she wanted to wear "school" clothes too. Lol

I send extra clothes for both kids. DS2 has been having a lot of blow outs lately. He apparently went through all of the clothes that I had brought him so he was put in some random school clothes. He's 7m but he was wearing a 2T shirt with 3m pants. To say he looked ridiculous is an understatement. But it was hilarious!

LO is only 16 months and in daycare, but yes. We keep a couple outfits on hand but if I don't get those returned in time she will come home in other clothes.

Yeah, it's in home but she has a girl (same age) so he comes home wearing girl stuff occasionally. :silly: We do pack a change of clothes as well for both boys.

We are required to send in a full outfit change every time as a lot of the school session is conducted outdoors (forest school) and they adhere to the philosophy that there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing choices. Given how much time they spend outdoors, regardless of the weather, and that they are encouraged to explore the mud, sand, puddles etc, they require an extra change of clothes in case their outfits get wet/muddy etc. They do wear school provided waterproof suits for a lot of their activities but they're not completely fail safe. The school does not provide extra clothing so everyone sends an outfit change in a little backpack and hangs it on a hook in the cloakroom.

When I worked at a preschool, there was a closet full of "interesting" assortment of clothes known as the back up bin. All students were required to have an extra set of clothes in their bags but some parents forgot or it wasn't weather appropriate, etc. The extra clothes in each sizes were usually clothes left behind or clothes donated.

The director also periodically went out and bought bulk underwear in each size to have on hand bc ew...used underwear.

We leave a set of clothes at school. There is a closet full of clothes too. The first time I worked there a little girl that got all wet and didn't have a change of clothes. I got to pick out a new shirt and there was quite an interesting selection!

We leave a full set of season appropriate clothes (including underwear and socks) in her cubby at school. I assume there are extras floating around somewhere, but don't know first hand.

We leave a 3 gallon Ziploc bag at her school in her cubby with extra clothes, undies, a toothbrush, and hair accessories. All the kids have this at school. We just had to switch it out for winter clothes.

We keep a couple extra sets of clothes at school in their cubbies (required). But, the school does have back-ups if for some reason the cubby clothes don't work out... Sometimes parents forget to update them with weather appropriate clothes, sometimes the kids go thru the cubby clothes (accidents, spills) all in one day, etc. I don't know about back-up undies, though LOL. I would think they'd have new ones or pull ups for that type of situation.

Yes, they have a storage unit for individual children where we leave clothes all the time and also a communal shared clothes drawer in the classroom bathroom area. The kids are outside as much as possible so they get wet and muddy every day basically.

Yeah, they have extras if you don't have spare clothes. LO 2 came home in a cute pair of heart print jeans last week after she fell into a puddle.

Hmm... my LO is only 17 months but I think I would be weird about borrowed undies! Seems like that is the type of thing they school should just have new packs of and let you keep them after use. Otherwise yes, our school does have some backup clothes in case LO runs out and you wash and return them.

We have to pack an extra outfit and underwear to bring to school every day, so we just have a ziplock we keep extra stuff in. LO had an accident today and apparently there weren't any underwear in the bag, so she has on "school borrowed underwear" I think it's nice they have back up pants, shirts, socks, shoes, outdoor gear etc but thought it was strange they have extra underwear. Guess it makes sense but I almost feel like I should buy new ones to send back, but it just says wash and return. Interesting! At least they are only 3-4 year olds!

Does your LO's school have clothing items they can borrow, if necessary?
