@septemberlove - they track it because they scan your ID. We have gotten DH, my mom and his mom to do returns for us :o) So that's definitely an option.
My advice would be to have someone at your shower(s) take tape and tape receipts to items so they don't get lost. I had some gift receipts, but they got lost in the transition from shower to home and unpacking.

I added a bunch of stuff online, but then went into the stor about a month before my shower and added stuff. That seemed to work well.

Good luck!!! Registry stuff is so much fun :o)

@CarrieLouWho: Thanks for the heads up! How do they track your returns to limit you to $50-75? Can you get around it if like my mom were to return some stuff or DH? I'm a little worried people wont include gift receipts. When I bought sonething for SIL from her registry, I'd put the gift receipt in with her card and both my mom and DH were like,"it's from her registry, don't put in the gift receipt!"

I noticed when I was adding stuff to my registry (i set it up online) a ton wasn't available in stores, I may go back and filter for what's just available in stores and try to add more store items. It was silly stuff, like washcloths, that weren't available in store (probably just the pattern I had selected, which I'm certainly not attached to lol)

Yes, you can use in the store and online but it must be all used in the same day. It's 10%.
FYI - I had to update my target registry A LOT. All of the seasonal stuff rotated through quickly. Also, a lot is stuff online isn't in the store. And finally - make sure you keep your gift receipts! Returns without one are limited to $50 or $75 a year.

I registered solely at Target but I'm wondering if they offer a registry completion coupon? If so, how much is the discount?
