Most of the used ones sell for 130-160. It turned out to be the only way to put our son to sleep (other than sleeping on someone) for the first 6-8 weeks. She would stay happy in it for 15-20 min if she was already calm, but it never put her to sleep or calmed her down. We were lucky enough to get a swing and a Mamaroo for free via friends. But, I wouldn't pay (esp not retail) for a Mamaroo if we already had the swing. The swing is definitely better for calming her down and lulling her into sleep. She is content in the Mamaroo but if she's pissed, she will remain pissed. I have since heard from 5 or 6 different friends that they are so upset they spent so much on a Mamaroo/Rockaroo because their LO didn't love it. Our son didn't even like the swing-he was super fussy and loved being worn in the Moby, sleeping in his vibrating Rock n' Play, or bouncing in his Bjorn bouncer. Those three things combined are less money than a Mamaroo and did the job for us.
