Try getting involved in the communities and twitter chats. That's where I found work at an internship, an editing job with a publishing company, etc.. </p> <p>It's amazing how many opportunities are available if you ask around. It's not straightforward, but it can be very effective. As a paralegal I could freelance from home wills templates or help edit contracts, etc. for small firms that don't have the funds to keep a permanent person on staff.
