@ladybee: we did make it to the doctor yesterday (despite the 19 inches of snow that fell here), only to have to see the one doctor in our peds practice I don't like. :( She was nicer than usual, but she literally said that she had no idea what it could be. Well, thanks. She said that there's no sign it's infected - the skin never was broken, it's not hot, S doesn't have a fever, so that's good I guess. She measured it and said to come back if it changes at all or starts bothering him. I don't know. It might be slightly less raised today so I'm going to give it until Friday unless it gets worse. Then we'll either head back to the pediatrician and hope we see a different doctor, or go to the dermatologist my parents see. Thanks for asking!

It's not warm to the touch, which makes me think maybe it's not infected, but you're right, the lines are concerning. We have an appointment for 7:30am. @mrsrccar: yeah, urgent care is the worst

I would just wait til morning and call the doctor. Unless it is bothering them, urgent care is all germy.

@blackbird: and @ladybee: Thanks for making me feel less silly. I was noticing the lines, too.
I will give the doctor a call in the morning. I'm supposed to work all day tomorrow, but could take him in on Tuesday. Do you think it matters if I wait an extra day?

Maybe one that's infected? I'd see our pediatrician.

My son has had this red bump/mark on his face going on maybe 5 days or so. I actually think it might be slightly worse than it was when I first noticed it. Do you think it's a spider bite? It doesn't seem to bother him at all, even if I press on it. If it doesn't seem better in the next few days, or is definitely getting worse, I guess I'll call his pediatrician, but I feel a little silly. Any thoughts? Thanks! Oh, and try not to notice the gross amount of ear wax he's got going on in the photos :)
