The nursing sessions were mostly just replaced with some whole milk (and in the beginning when she refused that) a snack. We first gave her whole milk when she turned one and she didn't like it that much. As time has gone on she now loves it. Most days she will have a few ounces (in a straw cup) when she wakes up along with breakfast. Then, a normal schedule of lunch and dinner with an occasional snack mixed in some days. I offer her milk/ water with each meal and throughout the day. It used to feel like I was feeding her all day, but now at 14- months it isn't as bad!

@.twist.: Have you tried cup feeding? Not sure if you follow Dr. Jack Newman on FB, but he's been talking a lot about this this week. Worth a read (but take my advice and ignore the comments. Some of them are pretty annoying!).

@Mrs. M: Good to hear! Did you replace the nursing sessions with snacks? I feel like I'm going to spend all day feeding the kid!

Sounds like you have a great weaning schedule! I just recently completely weaned my daughter (as of Monday) and our morning session was also the last to go. As I dropped sessions each week she adjusted really well. The morning session was her favorite, but after about a month of just nursing at that time she wasn't interested anymore.

Ugh. Not much advice here. I'm starting to plan out my weaning strategy too and would LOVE to avoid pumping. But little dude will not drink formula so, I don't think I have any other options. He also doesn't do bottles either, so I'm really stressing!

I am not an expert but I wanted to wish you good luck! I got great advice from the ladies here and will begin my weaning plan next week! I'm on a very similar timeline/circumstances to you, as my LO turns one on April 18 and then DH and I are going out of town the week after.
I'm already back at work, so my plan is mostly focused on eliminating at work pumping sessions.
Your stash is amazing so it sounds like you should have an easy time! Good luck! :)

DD is 10.5 months old now. She'll turn one on April 24 and I go back to work May 1, so exactly one week after her birthday. Thus, I'm thinking that I'm going to start slowly dropping feeds/pumping sessions over the coming weeks. She's never been overly attached to the boob, and she's OBSESSED with solids, so I'm hoping the transition isn't too difficult. Planning to do don't offer, don't refuse.

Anyhow, does this plan seem reasonable?

Currently:
7:15 Nurse
9:00 Breakfast
10:30 Pump side she didn't nurse on
11:30 Nurse
1:30 Lunch
4:30 Nurse
7:30 DD gets bedtime bottle of pumped milk
9:00 Pump both sides

So, my plan is to start next week by dropping my 9:00 pm pumping session. The following week I plan to drop my morning pumping session (I have 230 oz in the freezer, so she'll continue to get her nighttime bottle from that stash).

Then, after I've dropped my pumping sessions, I'll drop one nursing session/week, starting with the 11:30 am session, then the 4:30 pm session. I'll replace with snack and straw cups of whatever milk we decide to use (currently debating between a few options). The 7:15 am session will be the last to go, and we may hang onto that one for awhile.

Does that make sense/seem reasonable?
