I've read that an excess of drool / saliva can cause mucousy poop so it could be that?

As long as Baby isn't uncomfortable I wouldn't be too worried :-)

This doesn't really sound like a peanut related thing. My LOs had periodic mucousy stools for no apparent reason, but I had also heard that it could be due to them coming down with a little cold, teething, etc.

@SLR: I hope so too! My LO was kind of fussy during the time period when these poops were going on but not crazily so. She's also starting to teethe, so I never know what symptom belongs with what, haha! Aside from the yuck mucus her poops looked totally normal.

@sorrycharlie: That's what the nurse told me too. It just made me wonder after coming back this week. I hope it's just a bug!

we are actually having a similar issue now, but I didn't eat anything out of the ordinary. after 3 days it stopped (so, no mucus today). she's 15 weeks. I'm going to wait and see what happens - I read in what to expect the first year that mucus in EBF poop can mean a mild stomach bug? not sure..

Normal color. Just mucousy and not seedy. She seemed completely fine.

Was it green as well? Or just mucous-y? And did she seem to be in discomfort?

My LO (7 weeks old and EBF) had a period of 3-4 days with mucousy poops last week. I saw no blood in it and she had no other problems. The doctor said just to keep an eye on it and call back if I saw any blood or she developed a fever. It went away after a few days but came back a couple days ago. The only thing I can think of that I ate out of the norm around both of these periods was peanut butter.

I've had dairy all along and haven't noticed any problems there. I also had peanut butter in the first couple weeks after having her and have eaten other foods containing nuts without noticing any mucus then.

Has anyone had this issue with peanuts and breastfeeding? Does it sound like it could be an allergy? And if so, would it definitely mean that she'd end up having a peanut allergy?
