I will add that 11-13 months, when he was learning to walk, was the worst. He could stand up in the stroller, while tied in, while moving, while going up a hill...it was a nightmare. We only used to wear her for the first 4 months or so). Now that she can walk she will only tolerate it for about 15 minutes at a time, then she wants to walk herself. Summer where we live is pretty darn hot (for Canada) and he hated the carrier because he got too hot. I can't say he likes it but lately he's been more cooperative, especially if he has a snack for the ride. We go for walks 2x a week with another mommy friend and usually I can get her to conk out for a good hour or so. At least it was for my oldest. Then he went through a "Noooo!!!!" phase whenever I walked into a clothing store at the mall (buying clothes for him!). Like he knew it was going to be boring... Have you tried distracting him with a toy when you put him in the car seat? I always get SO nervous taking him out in the stroller, so much so that I always make sure I pack the baby carrier as well in case he pitches a fit in the stroller. He just loves being held so much more and can only take so much time in strollers and carseats.</p> <p>He hates the carseat too! The only way to get him to sleep in the car is to give him a bottle. </p> <p>Today I took him on a mile walk and I was SO surprised he was totally content the entire time. Maybe we're at a turning point?! I hope so because I would love to consistently have several mile long walks. </p>
