She used to when she was younger. Usually she'll keep sucking even when there's nothing coming out. I realized the other day that my boobs are her paci/lovey. :P

Yes, but only when he snarfs - ie, gets too much milk and starts coughing! Happens at least once a session b/c he is young still and is a gulper (and I think I have a fast letdown).

She unlatches if she hears noises - she whips her head around and takes my nipple with her! OUCH! Then she lets go. Grrr.

Yes, it is constant distractions right now. I have a hard time watching 30 Rock while nursing lately- I laugh, he unlatches, and gives me a look like "What's your problem?"

Yes, but not to smile. She is very fussy while nursing lately,, I think she prefers the bottle. She unlatches because she is frustrated and each session ends up taking an hour!

Yep, sometimes it's for a smile, or a dog bark sometimes she likes to change positions from football to cross cradle.

LO is almost 8 weeks...I wish she was unlatching to smile at me! No, she is a gassy baby, so she unlatches when she has to burp and when my let down is like a geyser. She is also starting to look at everything around her, so she'll unlatch to stare at the couch cushion, if DH coughs or burps, and for any loud noise.

Yes! LO is almost 7 months and she unlatches to smile...it is so cute!!!! The only times she doesn't do it is the first nursing session in the morning when she wakes up and the bedtime nursing session. She also unlatches if she hears someone talking loudly or if my phone rings.

Olive takes breaks to smile at me. She unlatches several times during each session, unless she's tired or it's at night.

Does your LO take breaks while nursing, or do it all in one go?
