I have two pumps a Lansinoh which as you stated is a closed system and a Medela Pump in Style Advanced which is an open system. I've only had/used the PISA for four days and haven't had milk get into the tubes but can see how it could happen.

My friend was telling me that some of the more expensive pumps have open systems that allow milk to get into the tubes. I always thought it was the cheaper pumps that had this issue. My pump is a Lansinoh that was under $150 and has a closed system which I am quite glad with. Just wondered for those that have an open system how do you clean inside the tube and how much was your pump?
