@mediagirl: LO does the same thing. we just wake up and she is lying between us. i think she listens out for us when she goes to the bathroom, if the tv is on in our room she walks past and goes back to her room but if its quiet then she comes in

We had this for a really long time after switching our eldest to a big boy bed. What's been working is an extra potty break at bedtime and a sticker chart or stickers in the morning for staying in his room all night. Switching to a big boy bed in a new house has been a hell of an adjustment.

Our DD has started waking up at like 4-5 am and coming in our room. She is trying to be up for the day, but we usually just put her in between us and ignore her until she falls back asleep for a couple of hours. DH used to try to put her back in her bed if she came in before six but she gets upset... so we chose sleep even if we have to put up with having toddler elbows in our backs.

Every night. DS started bailing his crib at 18 months so we had to convert. Now he's in our bed everynight between 11 and 12, which wouldn't be so bad if he wasn't WIDE awake at 4:30! I'd be fine with him coming to bed after 4, but 11 is too soon.
We may try this weekend to keep putting him back in his bed, but mom/dad's sleep may win out.

Maybe 3-4 nights/week? DD1 (4.2y) comes in and taps one of us on the shoulder and requests "snuggles". We usually just have to tuck her back in with a snuggle and a kiss before she falls back asleep. Sooooo, annoying enough to have to wake up and walk her back, but not really a prolonged process! Plus, she'll only be little for awhile, right? :)

My LO would manage to either DH to sleep with him in the middle of the night or just climb in our bed while we're asleep. I was getting tired of it and had to break the habit. Luckily creating a reward chart helped, and he hasn't tried to get into our bed ever since!

Nope. But he expects us to go to his room and lie down with him as needed and we do. I'd like to reverse it where he comes to our room, but not sure how. But also won't try until the baby is out of our room.

No, she sits up and screams for us from her bed (which she can climb out of and there's no lock on her door). The only time she comes into our room is after her clock lights up, and she comes up to my side of the bed and says "hi mommy!" That I like. The screaming in the early morning or middle of the night I do not like.

A few months ago he was driving me nuts with this. He'd barge into our room at 5, crashing the door into the wall then slamming it closed. DH got up with him once and then after we tried to get him to go back to sleep with us. Eventually we put a doorknob cover on his door and it finally stopped. He's only 2.5 though. I wouldn't have minded as much if he was just a stealthy co-sleeper.

This has been going on every night for the past six months! He's a super restless sleeper and talks in his sleep really loudly so it's no fun😟 We just upgraded him to a full bed and are really working on the staying in his own bed thing. Fingers crossed.

@mediagirl: I have a 4.5 yr old & this was our life for last year or so! We wouldn't even know she came in til morning! About a month ago we started a sticker chart with every night she stays in her bed the whole night she gets a sticker. After 5 stickers she gets a prize from the prize box (all things from the dollar store!). Miraculously she has stayed in her bed for all but 2 nights the last month!

How often does that happen? Our daughter likes to come into our room between 1 and 3am. She has a stealth mode she has learned so when she comes in these days, she climbs silently into bed and doesn't wake either of us up. We just wake up at 6am with her in our bed. She comes into our room a few times a week.
