He can be a little shy at first, but then will join right in once he is comfortable. I've actually noticed lately the shyness is wearing off. It doesn't take as long for him to warm up. Last week at the pool his friend was there, and he still preferred hanging out with me. She watched them for a while but then turned around and asked us to go into the deep end. I figure as she gets older, she will be more inclined to play with other kids, playing marco polo and diving games. Does your child prefer to play with you or other children?
