It actually did surprise me since he's only had juice twice and both times at birthday parties. I just assumed water would be offered.<br /> I think they are aware that juice is "controversial" because she said it is very watered down. And once they finish the first cup all they get is water after.<br /> 2) I said "every day" but it's actually every day he's there...which will only be twice per week. </p> <p>I'm not thrilled with it. But because it's only twice per week I'm not going to make a stink. I also don't want to be "that mom" right out the gate.<br /> But I do plan on asking what makes them want to offer it. I'm just curious. I'd be less surprised if it was an in home daycare run by an older generation. For example, my nanny who is 61 wanted to give him juice (and chocolate milk) around a year. If I hadn't said no she would be giving it to him daily. And she still will mention it on occasion (very passively) and I have to keep reinforcing it. I think in her generation it wasn't a bad thing.</p> <p>ETA: I'm not super anti juice, if it's what's offered at a party or someone's home it's fine. Otherwise it's just milk or water with snack and whatever you provide for lunch. Water is served for snack time 5 days a week. LO attends half day so she comes home for lunch except on Fridays she stays bc it's pizza day at school. They do water and a morning snack of fresh fruit. I'll pack her lunch and send milk. </p> <p>However, I am not against juice. She has a Honest juice pouch (very watered down, no added sweeteners, less grams of sugar and calories than 100% juice) almost every day.
