I work in the school district so they follow that schedule, but a ton of parents don't and I have no idea what they do!! They just messed up the schedule this year because they thought school wouldn't start until Monday and we go back on Thursday, thus DH is taking a day off and I'm taking the other day off. </p> <p>It totally sucks double for me since I only have 8 days of PTO and am taking 6-8 weeks maternity leave with docked pay each day I'm gone. I'm a financial advisor so year end is a big deal around here. It's really not convenient to have to leave early. Plus, NYE is a party holiday (as opposed to a holiday where people are traditionally spending time with family) so I really don't see why the day care staff needs to get out early. </p>
