Do you mean for just the child or the entire class? It's not clear in your post. I think ours allows both as I send all of DD's meals/snacks and for Valentine's day I sent in mini muffins I made-didn't even think to ask.

Yes. Ours is a national chain (Goddard) and we send in homemade food for daily meals/snacks as well as class parties. My son in Pre-K has 21 kids in his class and somehow there's not a single food allergy, so we have no restrictions. Same thing in my daughter's toddler class of 12 kids.

DS goes to playschool and earlier this year they changed their policy- they no longer allow ANY non-packaged food (used to be food for the class must be packaged and made in a nut-free facility; personal snacks could just be nut free). It's kind of annoying.

Yes and no? We have to provide packed lunch from home. They provide snacks. But birthday treats must be prepackaged (not homemade).

My son is in the 1 year old room, so pretty much all kids have packed lunch. But the school does have a program (they contract with a local provider) to buy a lunch - basically, you order in advance and the lunches are all delivered to the school each day. We might do that when he's older, but he's such a picky eater now and wouldn't really eat enough to justify the cost.

When DD1 was in daycare, they allowed her to bring nut-free homemade food for her own lunch/snack if she didn't care for the menu option that day (which I took advantage of fairly often since the menu was not the healthiest). A doctor's note was not required, but they started discouraging it once she got into the walker/ toddler room. You were not allowed to bring homemade food for holidays or birthdays because of allergies.

We an only bring in things for parties. No outside food or food with peanuts are allowed in there. They do a great job of assisting kids with allergies and special diets.

Yes. We are usually asked to contribute to class parties and the only restriction is that the center is nut free. It's a local chain. Ten or so centers.

Yes. I am actually really surprised because I haven't ever received any notes or anything about food allergies in the classroom. I know it isn't even nut-free because LO loves PBJ and I pack in probably once a week in her lunch. I guess it's possible there's no allergies in the classroom...but it seems odd. They let parents bring in food all the time for birthdays.

Yes we can. its a nut free school and we know of other allergies in los class but the teachers are also just very aware of those and always have alternative snacks for the kids with restrictions in case they're unsure of the contents

All food is supplied by the daycare LO attends. We are not permitted to bring any outside food or drink into the daycare. Originally when we started last year it was just peanut and sesame free but since then they have cracked down on everything.

We aren't allowed to. It's a regional chain. However, I've seen a few parents bring baked goods for bdays. They just put them in the cubbies to take home. Parents can decide whether or not to serve them.

Yes for lunch and snacks, no for food for the class. Not that big of a deal for me. For DS's b-day I just stopped at wegman's at lunch and got a dozen cupcakes for the next day. So much easier than baking and frosting.

We go to a big chain and are not allowed to, which is annoying but as a mom of two allergy kids its a big relief for me! I like that on their friends birthdays my kids can usually partake in the treat, whereas if it were homemade I wouldn't allow them to have it.

We go to a local chain center, meaning there are 4-5 centers in the local area owned by the same people. We can bring in homemade things. At least, no one has ever told me not to. I've brought in homemade treats for birthday's before.

Our current one does not. The last place that allowed homemade food was a privately owned daycare. Most chains I have found do not allow it. It makes holidays/birthdays hard!
