They are actually in a different town than me though- I live on the last street in our town, the next block is their town. It has been fabulous! They also seem to try pretty hard to keep the school open unless it's really unsafe for teachers to get there. BUT, we've become really close to one of the teachers, and he told us that he's never gotten paid for closures or breaks. Sneaky - he's technically not full time since he's an assistant. It's extra frustrating, because we're paying full tuition, and unlike a school that can add extra days at the end of the year, our preschool is year-round, so there isn't room for extra make-up days. We live on the border of two towns, and the daycare/preschool is literally just on the other side of the town line...the "Welcome to..." sign is in front of the school. On Friday the school system the preschool follows was open, but "my" school system (where we were supposed to have preschool orientation for next year) was closed.</p> <p>I don't mind extra closures b/c I SAH and would rather not drive when it's nasty out anyway. Our old daycare did and we had so many BS "snow" days or "frigid temperature" days that were only based on kids safety at bus stops - which I totally understand - but didn't matter for kids going to daycare. Both have to have a delay/close in order for them to even consider a delay or closure. So they don't have to make decisions. We usually lose 3-4 days for any ice/snow storm. Our schools are closed today and they just closed them tomorrow, which means daycare is closed today and tomorrow. Ugh. </p>
