Wowsers! Your daycare is like Fort Knox, @Andrea!

Actually, all of the daycare's, except the one we decided on, have a locked door out front and then parents have to type in a code to get in the building. The one we're going to does not have this but all of the classroom doors are closed with the oldest children out front and the youngest children in the way back. The other features way out-weigh the security.

Our day care is in a home setting and doesn't have any advanced security systems. The back yard is fenced in and the front door is locked while they're there. She doesn't have very many kids to watch so it's sufficient.

I am happy with our daycare's security. You have to flash your badge to a security guard upon entering the parking lot. There is a playground in front of the daycare so there are 3 sets of gates you have to open before getting to the front door. These gates are to prevent the kids from running out into the parking lot. Then at the front door, you use a key card to open the door. Then there is another door to prevent the kids from getting to the front door. Then you're inside and use a PIN on the computer to check your child in/out. So hopefully my LO is safe enough with this system!

What does your daycare do?
