(Keystone STARS for example...) If they're getting state money there are stricter rules and regs. I know public programs (like HeadStart) have to allow the same exemptions at the state level. Our last DCP told us that they couldn't/wouldn't exempt unvaccinated kids due to lawsuit worries. </p> <p>But... if kids enroll wo vaccines due to medical exemptions, there's no way barring them entry is legal, and I'm 99% sure that telling other parents about other kids' status would be a HIPAA violation. (They can't even tell you who in the room has allergies, for example.) </p> <p>TBH, i've never asked about the policies b/c we vaccinate. But L's never been 'on schedule' since a scheduling issue when he was 2 months old. They may *say* that's their policy, but they're opening themselves up for a lawsuit if they do. They get audited regularly be the state so technically they're required and I assume if they were to find you were out if date you wouldn't be allowed to attend until you got updated. In reality though, DS was super late on his 6m vaccines due to sickness and no one ever asked about it. Unfortunately, at most day cares and pretty much all schools, all the parent has to do is say that they're not vaccinating for personal/health reasons, sign a form, and they're done. I was surprised because LO has been to three daycares and I have interviewed dozens and I've never seen a vaccine requirement mentioned. I've filled out forms asking for vaccine history but during my daycare searches LO had no or very little history to report.</p> <p>If there is a vaccine requirement, how is it enforced? Are there exemptions like for public school?</p> <p>Asking merely out of curiosity since I haven't encountered this. My daughter is up to date on vaccines. </p>
