He has several girl friends, but they are more so text or IM buddies at work. He doesn't hang out with them, so I haven't met any of them just heard stories.

95% of his friends are also my friends. Most of our friends are male, but a few are female.

Your DH's friend sounds frustrating and passive aggressive. I think it's fine for your DH to hang out with this girl during work hours, but if she's going to make it so obvious that she doesn't like you, I don't think he should hang out with her in the evenings.

My husband is a loner type...he only has a couple of guy friends, and the only friend who is a girl is the fiance of one of these guys. She's cool, though and I'm totally ok with her.

However, if there was someone (man or woman) that had a problem with ME, I know that he wouldn't have anything to do with them. His family first, and I know that without a doubt. Anyone that makes me uncomfortable isn't ok in his book...and it goes the same way for me...if he doesn't feel comfortable with someone I hang out with, he would let me know and I would put my marriage first and not associate with them.

DH is friends with the girl who cuts his hair, she's very nice and just had a little girl a couple weeks ago, so our daughters will be in the same class. He also used to live with his best friend and his wife before we moved in togehter, and him and the wife are very close. We have also gotten very close and were in each others weddings (they weren't married when he lived with them.) Otherwise it is all guys.

I find it hard to embrace the concept of this woman being your husband's "friend". She doesn't act like any friend I'd like to have.

My husband has tons of female friends, and I don't care if he hangs out with them without me. I like all of them. But they don't act like that crazy co worker of your husband's, they act like normal women and therefore it's not an issue.

He has a few. They are all co-workers and are all very nice to me. We hang out as couples or at parties, but he's not interested in hanging out with just them, or them without me (which is good by me!). There is *one* co-worker who fawns on him at company parties (luckily once or twice a year I see her, or I'd claw her eyes out). DH thinks it's hysterical that I don't like her; I think it makes him feel good that I get jealous :p lol

DH told his team at work, which doesn't include her, and his boss but beyond that, he was happy to let it spread through the grapevine. She was at this event right after DH had announced (maybe 3-4 days before) and people kept coming up and congratulating me (DH was hanging out with his boss across the room, I'd been talking to one of his coworkers) and asking when we were due, if we were going to find out gender, if we had names, etc. and she was kind of awkwardly eavesdropping off to the side and she stormed up and was like "you're not pregnant! Are you?" and I was (I'll admit it) grinning the biggest shit-eating inyourface grin and I said "yes, DH and I are sooo excited!" and she was like "since when?!" her tone was just so mad, it wasn't friendly or excited or anything but angry. I told her we were 9.5 weeks and then she told me I shouldn't be telling since I could miscarry. I informed her that we'd heard the heartbeat and our OB told us that the chance of miscarriage after hearing the heartbeat was very low, and that DH was SOOO excited, he just couldn't wait to share the news! And for good measure I also threw in that DH had already bought and assembled the crib and dresser because he was just so excited!

She stalked off after that and was visibly unhappy the rest of the evening. She left really early.

I'll admit, I was very much haha-in-your-face about it once she came at me with such an angry tone.

Yes, quite a few and I really like them! He went to vet school, which is like 90% female these days. His class is unique and not filled with too many type A's or anyone who would who would try to mess with our marriage, so they are a lot of fun at reunions and conferences.

On the other hand, I do have a good guy friend whose wife I'm not a big fan of. We don't hang out with them much since she's very negative and pretty judgey over our parenting choices. It is unfortunate because they have a kid the same age as ours.

My husband's best friend of 20+ years is a woman. She and my husband talk almost everyday on the phone; she lives across the country so we only see her a few times a year; I'm sure if we lived closer they would do things together a lot and we would also hang out as couples a lot.

It doesn't bother me that his best friend is a female. I like her, she likes me.

He knows I dislike her and so he never does anything one-on-one but he is a bit frustrated that I don't like him even going out in a group if she's there. He always asks me before going to anything she's going to be at. I trust him completely, I just hate her lol and I hate the idea of her touching him and stuff.

@TurtleDoves: you made me lmao! thankfully she's rarely around anymore since changing jobs. This is the first time she's been an issue since a work event about 4 months ago (which was when she found out about us expecting, lol that's a whole 'nother can of worms! Suffice it to say she was livid. It was a very comical evening.) DH never hangs out with just her but he does like to go out with groups of coworkers for drinks and stuff like that every now and then, which she's almost always a part of. (She still works at the same company).

He kinda thinks I'm just overreacting. Luckily he doesn't hang out with her much.

DH only has one female friend, the wife of one of his best friends. He's known her for years and if it weren't for her, we wouldn't even be dating! Even without having done that, though, she's an awesome person and I'm glad to know her.

I totally agree with you though. If my DH had a 'friend' like that who acted like that way, I would tell him the exact same thing about 'don't expect to remain married...' She's obviously out to stir up trouble and cause grief. That's a really unhealthy friendship and I would talk to your husband about it.

Yes, he has a few female friends and I really like them all. He would actually like more male friends but hasn't made very many close guy friends since we moved to a new city.

Sometimes he hangs out with girls one-on-one without me but it's always to do something that I wouldn't want to do anyway - see a horror movie, concert of a band I don't like, drinking late-night etc. It doesn't bother me because I trust him so completely, I know he's not attracted to them, and most of all, I'm friends with them too. When he has a social life, he's so much happier overall, so I'm happy he has these people to do things with especially now that we have a baby. His best girl friend is a lesbian so I really don't have to worry about that one!

Your situation sounds completely different though and I don't blame you for not wanting him to hang out with her! She sounds awful!

@septemberlove: i'm not sure if you are even asking our opinion on your specific matter, so if you are not, then ignore me! But if you are:
I fully agree with you. I'd be super annoyed. If she doesn't like you, DH shouldn't like her. Bottom line.
And touching him? and inviting him to things that his SPOUSE is not able to come to? That's soooooo out of line. I can totally understand if you dislike this chick. Honestly, I'd work on cutting her out because people like this can be detrimental to a marriage. Even if DH has ZERO interest in her, she can still cause arguments and feelings of tension within your marriage, and that's just not fair to you and your marriage.
I can "take care of her" for ya ;) if ya know what I mean *smack, smack!*

I think I have (had? ugh, it's hard to maintain friendships when you move cross country) more guy friends than DH has girl friends.

He had a girl friend when we lived in Texas, and she was perfectly nice, so I didn't mind at all if he did something with her when I had other plans (I knew if I was free, I would be welcomed, too).

BUT I have (had?) a guy friend that DH doesn't like because he's convinced the friend had a big crush on me, or did "inappropriate" things to me, like touching my arm too often, or what-have-you. But we disagreed about that, because I knew the friend before I knew DH, and he's like that with ALL women (I genuinely don't think it's flirtatious, I just think he gets along better with women), and he's cluless about relationships and what "not okay" to do once someone's in a relationship, and finally...we were both single at the same time and I feel like if he really DID secretly like me, he would have tried to do something in that time. Which he never, ever did. In fact, we never hung out alone---just in big groups.

So I thought DH was too sensitive, and he thought I was missing "all the signs".

So maybe it's similar to your situation, in reverse? Kinda? (or maybe I'm reaching here- lol).

Yup but they're mostly spouses of his buddies. He does have a few single lady friends, and while I'm not a fan of some of them, they don't bother me. If I have an issue with them, I tell the hubby what my beef is with them and he'll rectify the situation.

um, no. That's just not OK with me.
That being said, he is "friends" with all of his friends' wives and all of my best friends. By that I mean, we all go out as couples and they get along, talk and joke. But they don't communicate privately or when I'm not around. If things need to be said, they go through me. The only time he would ever call my friend or his friends wives is when he needs to find me or one of his buddies and relay a message.

None that I don't know/am friendly with as well.

That behavior would not be okay with me.

Yes... One of his best friends is a girl - and yes I like her!

My best friends from high school are guys, including my BFF - but DH doesn't love him, but he likes him more every year.

Each of our opposite sex BFs were in our wedding 1 guy with the bridesmaids and 1 girl with the groomsmen

Oh - and that behavior is definitely not cool.

The only female friends he has that are "his" friends specifically are co workers. But I get along with them (one is coming to our house for the super bowl with her husband and baby girl). Hubs would have no desire to maintain a friendship with someone who didn't like me, male or female.

Yes, he has a few. I'm pretty friendly with all of them though.
