He seems to know the difference between his toys and hers but he does look at Sophie like he wants to destroy her sometimes.

@mrs. tictactoe: We have a puggle too! Luckily we haven't had the issue of him getting intimate with her toys yet.

Yes! That's why I find Lo's toys all over the place... The Yorkies love to carry them around the house.

My dog loves the baby toys. I've given her a few to play with since she loves them so much. Probably shouldn't have done that though.

There is one stuffed Lion that our puggle loves to... be intimate with... so we've had to wash it a few times and now have it up on a high shelf. They know not to mess with his other toys (we keep sophie attached to the stroller so they can't get to it), but stuffed animals are hard. I keep most of them put away and his lovies are always in his crib and car seat.

It's really cute that Liam knows which toys are for the dogs now and will pick one up and try to give it to one of them!! Our labradoodle will play gentle fetch (handing the dog toy back and forth) with him all the time!

My dog seems to know the difference, except for one "Sophie"-like squeak teething toy that he just can't comprehend that it isn't his. He will NOT forget that it exists and is obsessed with getting it. Its kind of funny actually. Otherwise, he seems to understand, which really surprised me.

I don't have a LO of my own, but I do have a few toys for when friends bring their LOs over. My dog loves them - especially the squeaky ones!

I bought a small stuffed animal for a friend's baby for Christmas, and my dog was able to sniff it out from under the pile of shopping bags before I wrapped gifts. I couldn't believe it when I saw him tearing it apart. Naughty dog!

@OCmama: yes, we tell her to "leave it" all the time. She usually does. But she sits right next to us and just eyes the toys... I can tell she wants them BAAAAAD! maybe I should buy her some new ones.

Sophie was a huge target for us too. The first time I gave it to LO, my dog stole it. Luckily, we were gifted two so I just let our dog keep the one he slobbered all over.

Since then, we constantly remind our dog to "leave it" when it comes to LO's toys. I think he's getting the point and haven't stolen anything since.

Yes. Sophie and a sock monkey have been targeted but fortunately, I rescued them in time. There aren't that many stuffies around yet because she really doesn't care for anything plush yet. We'll see what happens as time goes on. Our dogs looooove stuffed animals.

My dog has been rebelling big time!! He loves all of lo's stuffed toys and his balls. He usually doesn't go for anything plastic or wooden but recently chewed part of a stacking cup. Grrr...it drives me bonkers! It doesn't help that when people are over they mistake my lo's toys for my dog's toys and play fetch with him...

ETA: @autumnlove: my LO loves my dog's toys too! Especially his deer antlers....ew!

Yes, my dog loves Megabloks, Care Bears, Sophie the giraffe, and LO's wood blocks!

LO loves the dog's toys....his nasty rope toy and stuffed animals!

haha! Every once in a while our dog will be super excited and run into a room and go to pick up the first thing he sees, and then he realizes that it's not his toy and drops it.

He knows what toys are his and if I tell him something is "mine" he doesn't ever touch it again.

So far so good. They know which toys are hers and which are theirs, though I don't know how much they car about following that rule! lol! I've caught them walking around with one of her toys in their mouth a few times. As soon as I call them on it, bletch, out it comes!

It finally happened... my tog chewed up one of my LO's toys. lol I knew it was bound to happen eventually. She's always eyeing his stuff. I should have took a picture. I was entranced by my ipad one evening and my DH walks into the room to find the dog chewing up a little stuffed toy. She was lying right under my feet! haha

She hasn't got a hold of sophie yet, but I can tell she wants to rip her to pieces especially since she squeaks like a dog toy.

Has your dog gotten a hold of any of your LO's toys?
