MIL bought hers a few years ago when my niece started daycare as MIL took her once a week and didn't want to swap cars with SIL or fuss with moving it from car to car.<br /> My mom and I have been watching flyers and she just picked up a pretty decent carseat for like $100 because it was on mega sale. It's pretty convenient when they're coming to get him for an overnight stay or whatever. It's also used by my niece when my brother's family comes to town. I talked to my friend about this when she was deciding on emergency contacts. We kind of figured any emergency that would warrant the emergency contact taking the baby right away (ie, no time to get a car seat from somewhere) would probably require an ambulance, so it probably isn't a major concern about the car seat itself. </p> <p>But if your mom will be driving her anyway, it might make things easier if you can find a good deal on one to keep in her car.
