Hubs family lives further, but only two hours tops. So we're pretty close.</p> <p>I really like being close to my family. I hang out with my brother a lot (every other weekend usually), and I try to see my parents every other month (though more around holidays and birthdays).</p> <p>We don't really see my husband's family much though, even though they're almost as close. I do have an aunt who lives near us, just outside of tokyo and another aunt in Hiroshima. DH has his mom, siblings and extended familyy about two hours away so we have gone up a few times since LO arrived and a few people have come down for short visits. My family is in the midwest but my mom has spent a lot of timme out here since she is retired. It has been harder than i thought so she has been a huge help.
