I haven't dried my hair in months, I just put in a little Paul Mitchell serum and let air dry. However, I usually pull it up for work into a bun. If I leave it down I curl it.

Yes... but that's because I did a 24 hr Keratin treatment. Now it's wash and wear and looks good enough for every day, but if I'm going out or to the office I still have to "fix" some of the straighter pieces with a curling iron.

When it was straight, it just looked SO flat and terrible when it air dryed. Now that it's curly, if I put some gel in it, it looks good air-dryed. If I don't add a little gel though, it's frizzy on the top.

I have a lot of fine straight hair (no wave no matter how hard i try). My stylist is amazing. I dont have lots of body, but it looks good with little to no help.

When my hair was straight, it didn't look good air dried. I could get good results only if I did something to liven it up, like a quick blast with the drier or a few passes with the straightener, after airing it. It turned wavy when I was pregnant, and now it air dries okay.

Yes... my hair is chin length and curly. I wash it once a week and put on some curl cream and let it air dry. Day to day I do nothing to it at all, I might run my fingers through it before I leave the house but that's it. I don't even own a hairdryer!

@periwinklebee: it depends on the air temperature but mine dries v quick, less than 30 mins I would say. I feel like different textured hair dries differently, mine is really non-porous!

I think it looks fine. It's fairly curly so I finish it with a coconut frizz serum and some gel. It always looks fine the day I wash it. It gets a little frizzy overnight but I can usually run a flat iron over it and just have looser, slightly more out of control curls. It looks good dried and straightened but that takes way too much time! I also have a satin pillowcase to reduce frizz and I use sulfate/silicone free products which has helped.

@winter_wonder: yes but only bc that was the goal of the cut! My stylist is very pro air drying unless it's absolutely necessary to use heat. So he cut my hair with certain layers so that it looks ok leaving it wet (it's wavy). It still looks BETTER blowdried and straightened but I never do it anymore with an infant!

I'm curious for all those that air dry, how long does that take? I feel like even if I towel my hair thoroughly to try to get the water out, it still takes a few hours to air dry. I'd love to blow dry it less, but I can't show up at work with noticeably wet hair and if I wash it the night before and sleep on it wet, it looks gross. Am I missing something?

Nope. My hair is stick-straight and thick but really fine. It mostly looks horrible if it air dries but I do it anyway, because....pregnant with a toddler. Haha. I actually braid it wet at night sometimes so it's wavy the next day. My coworkers call it my T-Swift hair. :P

It does. I have curly hair though, so I plop it on top of my head with a tshirt for 5-20 minutes, depending on time, run some curl cream through it, and go. I only blowdry in the winter and only enough that it's damp but not sopping.

No! As the last girl who cut my hair said, it's not wavy but it has a "bend". So I either dry it or put it up wet--key to solo mornings with two kids before work has been figuring out things to do that look halfway decent!

If I don't style it at all- hell no! My just washed curls with a little serum to keep the frizzies away looks like a wet jerri curl. If I take the time to seperate and put my hair into at least 8-12 big twists, let it dry a bit & then pull it apart that can look nice. That all takes at least 3 hours, so I keep my hair flat ironed straight instead.

no way jose!! It gets super fluffy and frizzy if I let it air dry. Even DH gets embarrassed about it if we go out and I let it air dry. lol

I'm thinking about trying this thing my hair stylist recommended. Takes 1.5 hours to do, but will make my hair stay straight and non-frizzy. Air drying is highly recommended with it too! I just need to find time to get it done. I'm also scared I'll love it too much and want it done all the time, which could mean $$

Nope! Mine is chin length, thick and a bit wavy and just flips out randomly when let it air dry. The only way it looks good is if i blow dry and straighten it, which is a lot harder to do now with a 3 month old. I'm trying to grow it out so that I can at least throw it up in a ponytail if it's bad.

I think it can, but it's not like I can just do nothing and walk out the door. It still needs some sort of product and/or tousling (?). And it looks like crap until it's 100% dried (that in-between stage is terrible), which takes a long time!
