No my husband doesn't have much of a temper at home. I think it all comes out at work but never at home. If he gets upset, he just lets me know and wants to talk it out. I'm the one with a temper.

No he doesn't. He is pretty patient and very rarely gets past the point of frustration and into anger. I think I am the only person who knows how to make him truly angry. He never yells either.

No, not at all. In almost 6 years together we've never had a fight, and he's never raised his voice to me or yelled at me. He's apologized once or twice for getting "irritated" or "rude" with me, which always made me laugh when he did it, as I never even knew he was being crabby! We're both very laid back.

Mine has a very bad temper. He didn't use to, I really hope he'll see a Dr soon. He gets mad at the dog, and the kids, then me. I think it has a lot to do with stress and not working. He isn't the man I married lately.

@Modern Daisy: My husband is exactly the same way. Sometimes its tough for me because I want to resolve the issue right then, but I've learned that it works out a lot easier if I just let him have his space for a few hours.

The hubs is VERY laid back. He's NEVER so much as raised his voice at me. When he's upset about something, he logically talks it out - never gets angry.

I get frustrated and emotional a lot. We're both pretty good, though.

My husband is usually pretty awesome at not letting things get to him. He does a really good job of realizing that things just aren't that big of a deal and don't really matter in the grand scheme of things. The only times he gets really frustrated is when he can't get something to work, loses something, etc. then he is pretty known to let the cuss words fly or even throw something (never at someone...he'll just chuck his phone into the backyard or something). At this point it's just funny to me when it happens because it's always over something stupid. Probably won't find it funny once the baby is here. I'm mostly worried that our baby's first words will be curse words.

I'm extremely sensitive and HATE to get yelled at. My husband knows that, and doesn't do it. He's awesome at talking things out nice and calmly because he knows I won't respond to yelling. So I'm sure he'll be the same way with my lo.

My husband sometimes has a short fuse when it comes to our dog which I always remind him is not acceptable and will definitely not be acceptable when we have children. I have to put it in perspective and explain that it's not the worst thing that could happen and to just breathe. He usually recovers very quickly. He's his father's son for sure, and I explain that while I love my father in law, I did not marry him and he pulls it back.

My husband fumes a little and goes for a walk when he's mad (which I've seen maybe once in 4 years of knowing him.) But I grew up with a violent bipolar brother (unmedicated until adulthood) - there was NO WAY I was gonna end up with a bad-tempered person.

When my DH gets angry, he usually shuts down completely and needs time to himself before he's willing to communicate at all. Once he's calmed down, he's usually a lot more receptive to having a productive conversation - but before then do not get in his way!

I am totally the tempered one. DH is very mellow, and only yells if I REALLY get him going. On the other hand, I am very very quick to lose my cool and very quick to calm down.

I nannied for years, and only once lost my temper with the girl, (because she put the newborn in danger of being hurt). I more often lose my temper with adults than children, because I feel like adults know what they're doing. And my DH is a total antagonist ;)

in general, he's pretty even tempered. but when he blows up, he blows up. so far, we don't have LOs yet, so we'll have to see how he handles our babies. lol. i have a feeling though that he won't be so blow-y uppy since he probably won't see them much.

The book Magic 1-2-3- mentions that getting upset at your LO can give them a sense of power, and can lead to behavioral issues!

Can your SO manage his stress through other means, like exercise or something? Either way, I really really recommend Magic 1-2-3! It provides a roadmap for managing your kids, which makes parenting way less stressful...

My husband is pretty mellow on most days. But when he gets frustrated at LO, he just blows up and starts yelling. I feel so bad for LO because I dont' think he understands why his daddy is so mad. I tell my husband all the time that he needs to calm down and that LO isn't doing anything on purpose. But hubs gets so frustrated and stressed from work that when LO does something that "defies" him, he gets really upset.

Sometimes I worry that his temper will have a negative effect on our LO. He tries to work on it though.

Do your husbands/SO's have a bad temper? If so, how do you deal with it?
