I.e. I live in Boston but the Newton library has the e-book I want so the Boston library "borrows" it for me from Newton then I check it out from the Boston library... I know they do it with physical books and I think they are starting to do it with e-books too. </p> <p>Another thing to consider is getting Amazon Prime so you can use the kindle owners lending library, where you borrow one book per month from another kindle owner.
