One day he started making his blocks into cars and trains and making the noise. We were surprised! Then we starting buying them and he LOVED them. A is obsessed with cars even though I tried to make sure I wasn't purposely encouraging it. He points at every truck we see and repeats "truck! truck!" Until you also acknowledge the truck. And he loves to push cars and trucks around the house. My brothers gave him their old childhood matchbox cars last fall and it's been love ever since. He can't get enough. I couldn't have been more wrong. Without even the slightest prompting, LO (who is now 21 months old) developed a strong love for cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles, planes, etc. Pretty much anything that moves and has wheels! One of our favorite activity is going to watch the traffic from a bench on the sidewalk. I pretty much let him have whichever ones he likes. </p> <p>He's only 12.5 months so he hasn't really shown much preference yet. </p> <p>However, he noticed wheels VERY early and LOVES staring at wheels a lot. He will take any type of wheels. Like, total obsession. My daughter, who is younger, likes cars and motorcycles but not as much as my son. It hit hardcore around 2.5 years old. Before that he could take 'em or leave 'em. Can't complain, Matchbox cars are cheap!</p> <p>As far as gender goes and having two boys- he also has a kitchen, stuffed animals, and cleaning toys. For entertainment we will go on a walk to look for trucks. He has car pajamas and every type of car toy. I have an adorable video of hi at tire Rama pointing out every truck that drove past. Every morning when DH leaves for work, he says "dada work. Big truck." (He drives a suburban.)</p> <p>We had NOTHING to do with this obsession. He had one car toy and one book (Red Truck - it's great; we love it!) and it mushroomed from there.
