Yes, we get a worksheet for homework every night. DD is in "pre-K" but they consider her at 1st grade academic level, hence the homework.

No, we're doing a play based preschool, so I would be surprised if he came home with worksheets.

I am okay with it for the older grades, but not for the kids below kindergarten.

@Freckles: My daughter enjoys it. Her attention span isn't great so the short stories are perfect. She likes the hidden pictures activity, but some of them are a little hard. I think it's geared more towards 3.5 years old, but I bought a subscription through Plum District so it was really cheap. Figured I would save them up if she didn't quite get them yet :)

@pinkcupcake: Is the subscription worth it? I was thinking of getting it for LO too.

I'm not much of a worksheet kind of person, but the 'Don't Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus' activity book is so much fun if anyone is looking for a creative version of a workbook. :)

Not at preschool. They have a very play-based approach to learning so no worksheets or anything like that. (She's 2.5, and goes to a program for 2 - 3 year olds).

We do "worksheets" at home, but only for a few minutes at a time. We have a subscription to High Five magazine, so we will spend some time going through their activities. I also bought her a set of flash cards from Costco that you can use erasable markers to write on. It instructs kids to put a circle around the green block, trace letters, circle the 7 of a kind, etc. It's a lot of fun for her and she loves doing it. :)

At home or at preschool? When did they start doing worksheets? ETA-I don't think our center does them because they are play based.
