On purpose. He spits the water out like a fountain when he is done actually drinking. So naughty.

oh yes! and sometimes he throws his head back as if he's trying to figure out how to stop sucking on the straw without losing the water in his mouth. he's 8 months and is still learning, though.

My daughter does this with a regular sippy cup. She doesn't close her mouth after she takes a sip! I really wonder when they normally learn to close their mouths. (By the way, for us this is all milk, so even worse!)

My 10.5 month old LOVES to drink water out of her straw cups. Sometimes she forgets that she has to keep her mouth closed when she drinks, though. I have to layer bibs on her so her outfit doesn't get soaking wet. She knows how to drink, she mostly does this when she's sipping for fun.

I dread the day we put milk in those straw cups and milk goes down the front of her instead of water!
