Totally! LO has bitten me on the shoulder (multiple times) while I carry him. He also bites my fingers if i happen to get too close when feeding him slippery finger foods. I hope its a phase.

@Boogs: Do you guys ever jokingly use your mouth to nibble on your LO? I did that for a while and it made Charlie giggle like crazy, and then I read that it teaches your LO to bite you!

My LO has been biting DH and I sooo much lately! We tell him "no biting!" very firmly and say "ouch!" loudly when he does it. The little stinker did a driveby the other day when I was doing dishes and even bruised me. It has been driving us nuts and we would love to figure out how to make him stop!

My LO bites our arms and shoulders sometimes. HAHA. She doesn't know any better so we just saw ""ow!" and tell her not to bite.

She bit my MIL and me last week through my shirt and I gave her a very stern "No Biting". Not sure why she did that though unless it's a side-affect of teething (two molars are cutting in).

She does. But it's because I stick my hands in her mouth to put stuff on her gums for teething, so really it's my fault.

My Brother and SIL and I were just talking about this last night. My Nephew was trying to bite my brother. Seeing as its my brother and seeing his reaction I had to turn around so my nephew did not see me giggle because of course I dont think its OK. He is still pretty young, so its hard because he doesnt even understand, they just tell him NO. He is still teething so they gave him something else to chew on.

No but my LO has bit another toddler at daycare. They handle it by showing her the bite and letting her know that it hurts to bite others. And then they let her help ice her friend to show the steps to make it better.

I was changing Charlie this morning, and he bit me through my sweater! I showed him the mark and asked why he bit me... he said, "I eating Charlie's sweater!"

Huh, that makes no sense - it was my sweater! I asked him to at least kiss my booboo but he refused and just said, "I eating Charlie's sweater!"

He used an insanity defense, and it totally worked. I read once that kids learn to bite from their parents, so I never ever jokingly bite him (something I was guilty of before).

Does your LO ever bite you? How do you handle it?
