I usually tell them we are going to practice it, we do it once where I hold on tight and tell them to think about how far they are going. The second time I hold on loosely and basically let them drop except make sure they don't actually fall. We practice the second way a few times. Daddy!!" in a panic. Turned out she had grabbed onto the (very low) monkey bars at the playground, and then was afraid to let go! (It was maybe a 2 inch drop.)</p> <p>She's done this a few times now, and each time I've "rescued" her. I think that maybe it's time to practice dismounting from the mini monkey bars, so she doesn't get "stuck" again.</p> <p>Does your LO ever hang from a monkey bar and then get afraid to let go? </p>
