My daughter does this to spend time with my husband. We cosleep and she checks to see if he's still in bed when she wakes up. If he's not she gets up and tells yells for him to come her her, otherwise she snuggles or goes back to sleep. Mostly it's pretty darn cute but some days she wakes up waaaay too early to see him, especially if she didn't get to see him before bed the night before. She's still really young but she's pretty much always done this.

Lately my son has started waking up at 6:30 or 7:00, so that we can spend time together. We will have breakfast together, and then he will sit near me while I work and show him what I do. Afterward, he will ask me, "Dad, did you enjoy our quality time together?"

I guess he was really listening when we talked about love languages! He decided his was quality time and gifts, and now he really prioritizes spending time together. It's wonderful, but he's also not getting enough sleep and it affects his behavior in the evening. But it's so sweet that I just encourage him to go to bed earlier.
