Normal amount I think, I'm a germ freak so lots of hand washing and disinfecting. She has a cold right now, this is probably her 4th one in her 13.5 months. Her older brother (10) was never sick until preschool, then he got it all (that's when my germ phobia started), since lo is at a baby-sitters everyday I'm hoping that helps with the preschool stage.
Now her step-sisters are sick every.single.time they come over. Their daycare and Mother don't think hand washing, or covering mouths are important. One of them always always always has a cold or something (ages 7 and 4).

Same with you guys. DD got sick so much between 5mo-2yr but now she never does at all, it's amazing. DS now gets everything.. I think he also gets germs from DD and falls ill even if she actually doesn't!

What's a lot? I think he has had 6 colds since he was born? 3 of them were pretty bad, and it's the worst when he was also teething.

He was breastfed until he was a year, but I think he gets sick a lot because I try to not be paranoid about him chewing on grocery store cart handles, eating food off the floor, etc.... It sucks to have a sick kid, but I figure that in the end, his immune system is going to be pretty strong from the exposure to all those germs. So, in my thinking, the more germs the better, as long as we're not talking something deadly like e.coli.

Nope neither one of them gets sick, except for after vaccines. They both get pseudo colds.

Not really. He mostly gets sick when we travel, but other than one throat infection has only had little colds.

My LO had never been sick for the first 10 months of her life...then she started having more interactions with older babies and young kids and she got roseola, a bad cold, and now croup...so 3 illnesses in a 2 month period...I hate it when she's sick and I'm dreading the rest of the winter. I kind of wish people would keep their kids at home or cancel plans when their kids are sick...you can't tell someone to leave when they show up with a sick kid but I don't want my LO to get sick.

She's 16 months and she's had two colds and salmonella once. I don't think that's a lot.

My LO is in daycare. Maybe that's part of our problem? By sick I mean congestion. He has never had a fever.

LO's pretty healthy. She's been sick maybe 3 times in her 20 months of life. Sick = bad congestion, runny nose and she had a cough for 2 of the sickies.

Yes! And both of us are sick again. :(. LO is teething so he is constantly putting his hands in his mouth which I think is leading to him getting colds.

Charlie got sick A LOT for a long time... but this year, he's been pretty healthy. Wow! What an impact that has on our quality of life... we don't have to pull him out of daycare, we don't have to wake up a million times in the middle of the night, we don't have to get projectile vomited on. It's great!

Olive has been sick a lot though... I guess it's something all babies/young toddlers have to go through? :( It's the worst!!
