As long as we time it right, he goes right to sleep. Otherwise, crying!

My LO babbles before sleep when she's in a good mood. If she's overtired or cranky, she cries/whines briefly before settling down to sleep.

We've got a babbler, but as her language has evolved it's become utterly adorable. I'll hear her talking about her friends and elephants hiding in trees and the sounds animals make... or sometimes she'll sing bits of a song. Though sometimes I'd love her to go to sleep sooner, the whole routine is precious!

She used to babble more when she was tiny but that was a while ago. She always goes straight to sleep.

my son has always talked to himself too. He now plays with his train a bit. But he did recently go through a phase of crying. It was after our thanksgiving trip to ny where he caught a cold and got pretty sick. What finally worked was changing up his night time routine just slightly. Instead is singing his usually good night song, which seemed to trigger the crying, my husband started singing something else. In fact, he always sings something different now which seems to work better. And he gets to choose something to sleep with which seems to help with the transition too.

My LO goes straight to sleep.

But when I was young I had a baby blanket with all sorts of animals on it. I would make up stories about all the animals, how they would interact with each other, etc. And of course I would say all the stories out loud. I'm sure my mom had an awesome time listening to my crazyness.

Mrbee: Hope Charlie gets over his crying stage and back to his babbling stage or just goes straight to sleep soon!

My daughter (3yrs) will sing to herself, talk to her stuff animals, play till she passes out in her bed, My son (21 months) goes to sleep only because i sit in the room with him till he falls asleep anywhere from 5 - 25 mins. If I leave prior to him being asleep he cries and if he cries he ends up throwing up.

Charlie used to go straight to sleep, but now he talks to himself for a while... I guess he is recapping his day to himself? I have no idea. I stand outside his room sometimes, but I can't make sense of it.

Anyone else hear their LO babble themselves to sleep at night?
