My son sleeps in a twin with no rails. His bed is really low to the ground and he has fallen out only twice in more than a year.

We have them on both sides of my son's full sized bed. They're the ones that you could fold down, but they're always in the upright position.

We tried a lot of things, noodles, pillows, magic bumpers, nothing worked.

We initially used "magic bumpers" (amazon) and it's the same concept as using a pool noodle underneath a sheet. We took them off as DD learned not to roll off (but she is against one wall).

I've read about other parents putting pool noodles under the fitted sheet, too!

In her twin she has one rail and the other side is pushed against the wall. When she sleeps with us in our king (yes bad habit, yes it happens more than I would like to admit ) she has no issue with falling out, I think she would be okay without it!

My parents are giving us one of their queen mattresses so we don't have to buy LO a big girl bed. We weren't anticipating getting her a bed that big but it's free, so we will make it work! We have one of those bed rails that was given to us but that will obviously only cover one side of the bed. I'm wondering if I should buy another one or just put a pillow on the other side of her. She's never slept in such a big bed so I'm not sure how much moving around she will do. She was falling out of her toddler bed when she first got moved to it, but hasn't fallen out in a good month or so.

If your LO is in a big bed do you have a bed rail on it? One on each side, or is the bed against a wall? We don't really have the option to put the bed against the wall unless we want it covering part of the window, which I don't want to do. Any other tips for making the move to a big bed?
