He moves the chair to wherever he wants to sit and will take his player over to his table to eat. He started sitting at it independently around 10mo. We love it! I can fold it up nice and small and just tuck it away when we aren't using it. It's sturdy and it cleans up really well after painting and such. We got it from costco in the summer. It is probably the most used baby/child item we have (outside of the crib). It's great for crafts, have a kid table for eating, and so much more. I highly recommend one. We got it when she was around 12 months and she's 4 now and still uses it a ton! She has a train table too but this one she uses so much for arts and crafts and play dough and snacking with her friends. It's so worth it! If you're pressed for space, the chairs are compatible with the Lack side table. We use both. We have the IKEA cheaply set, and I liked it until they started eating at it more regularly....food crud gets still I between the crack in the edge/surface of the table. I may upgrade to one that is all one piece on the top (or just build on another top.
