No, we have him in a regular full sized bed, he has a step stool next to the bed that he calls his stairs and uses those to get in and out.

Nope, WJ is actually in our queen sized guest bed right now. He was in a crib, then the crib converted with toddler rail til almost 4 (he's small!) And finally I gave in and gave him the guest bed. Now when guests come over, he sleeps on an arrived in our room and the guests stay in his room.

He's fallen off a couple of times! But usually just climbs back on. If he falls and cries, we just tuck him back in and he goes right back to sleep.

@chopsuey: Something about mattress fumes needing air flow. Thanks for answering! I am sure a mattress on the floor is fine considering your gal is just fine.

@prettylizy: Thank you! That is a cute headboard.

We have a floor bed for my DS. But it's been very hard to keep him from coming out and standing by our bed. One of usually goes to lie down with him around 1 am.. It sucks. We put him back in the crib for a few nights and now he just cried for us. Not sure what to do!

@cheesetomywhine: just a mattress on the floor. It's our old queen mat that was recently replaced by a king in our room. It is in fine shape and super comfy so I couldn't bear to throw it out. Dd loves her big bed

@chopsuey: @prettylizy: @Mrs. Twine: Are your floor beds on something? Or just a mattress directly on the floor? I've read some stuff saying it should have something under it for oxygen to flow but cannot figure out what that something would be. Thanks!

DD has always slept on a floor bed! We plan on getting her a bed frame when we move though.

DS is in a pnp and.. not sure when we'll transition him out! Probably not for a long while.

@autumnlove: I felt the same way about the 'look' of the floor bed so we made a padded headboard on the super cheap to make it look like a real bed. We do have plans to put her in a twin bed eventually but not yet

We are planning to transition DD out of her crib and I was half wanting to do a floor bed. Whether floor bed or toddler bed, I am just afraid she will get up in the middle of the night and wander! Did you have problems with Olive getting up and roaming around her room in the middle of the night?

I did a floor bed for Ellie starting at 7 months, and for Lorelei about the same (though she really didn't use it much until she was around a year because I was still wearing her for naps and she was still in bed with me and Mr. T). Now I share the floor bed with Lorelei for most of the night and Ellie has her own regular twin bed.

Olive has both a floor bed (twin mattress) and a crib in her room. The past couple of weeks she has fallen asleep on the floor bed, and then we move her into her crib because she tends to sleep better in there.

Last night for the first time we left her on her floor bed, and she slept 12 hours! I think we are ready to make the transition (she's 27 months). Her crib converts to a toddler bed, but she loves her floor bed. Charlie has a floor bed too!

Does your LO have a floor bed? Would you consider one for your LO?
