We have tried desperately to get her connected to a lovey. She has one stuffed animal "Navajo Pony" who she sometimes likes to take with her in the car seat, but otherwise her lovey is ME. It can get old at times because she wants to hold at least one finger of mine at all times if I'm around (to make sure I won't step away, I think!)... but I'm glad she feels so connected to me :)

Mine isn't interested in any lovies yet but I kinda want her to have one. I'm glad to hear the A+A blankets work, we still swaddle her half ways just because associates it with sleep, even though she breaks free and it's not really swaddled, so I was hoping to make that a lovey but I'm not sure how.

Yep. Ours didn't want any dolls until 11 months but now she wants all of them at the same time. Here I am carrying her around along with 3 stuffed animals dangling, crammed in my armpit and one under hers.We would hold all 20 if I let her. Everytime she looks up at her shelf she points an says Doll!Eta: she did like this purple sock monkey from month 2. She would hug it if I gave it to her. I offered her a bunch but she reached for that one.

My LO was lovey-less til about 11 mos. We noticed that she LOVED kittens and looked for a soft Kitty plush for her to play with. After about two weeks of visiting stores, we saw some soft kitten hand puppets at Costco that she immediately gravitated to. At home, she'll hug and kiss and bite it, it's really cute. Two weeks later, we went back and bought two more cause she loved it so much.

Melody has a mini Little Giraffe chenille blanky when she started daycare at 5 months. It has been her constant since then. At about 9 months, we were out shopping and she picked out a monkey and that is her other lovey. She needs them both :)

RJ's lovey is an angel dear blankie with the lion head. He doesn't need it at daycare anymore for naptime, but he uses it for bedtime. It helps him self-soothe and has ever since he started sleeping through the night. We just kept it around him while he was sleeping all the time, and one day he grabbed it and stuck his fingers in his mouth, and ever since then it's been his comfort. We have four and rotate them through the wash so they all stay similarly-worn. I'm always paranoid that he'll vomit in the middle of the night and we won't have a clean one on hand. Once we bought a new one and he rejected it! So I washed it like ten times before entering it into the rotation.

mine uses the A&A blankets as lovies too. he has two "real" lovies, the little blanket with head, but he's not attached to them. he doesn't carry the A&A all the time like linus, but he does find comfort in it. we took it to the hospital with us when he had surgery over the holidays.

Yes, DD has a white bunny that is a tiny blanket with a head attached, that she loves to grasp the edges of to comfort her to sleep. I slept with the bunny for a few nights to get my scent on it before giving it to her. She is only 9 months & I tend to worry, so I always wait until she is asleep & then remove it from her crib, but she loves it! I read the book The No Cry Sleep Solution by Elizabeth Pantley & got my inspiration there. She also has a german dolly that we are using as a lovey when the bunny is being washed, but I try to not let that happen too often.

yep kinda. My boss and his wife bought us this gift basket with a super soft little bear in it. She loves it. She doesnt NEED it to fall asleep or calm down, but if she sees it from across the room her eyes light up and she lunges for it. And if she does have it while shes falling asleep she munches on it

LO doesn't have a lovey but I've been wanting her to have one since she was 2 months old but couldn't decide what it could be. I have a stack of cloth diapers that I never used and was going to take one of them (clean, of course), and sew a pretty cover for it and use that as a very mini chew blanky...

He loves his Aden + Anais blankets.

http://www.adenandanais.com/shop/classic.aspx

He'll bury his face in it when he's tired and hold the tags in his hand while drifting off to sleep. Thankfully those blankets are readily available so we have them all over the house. And if we ever lost one, we can always buy more at Target.

My hubby's aunt gave us a "lovey," it's one of those tiny blankets with the stuffed animal head attached. It's a cow. I really like his aunt so it's sentimental for me, which is why I'd love her her to love it. But she's just not interested yet.

I figure eventually she'll pick her own lovey.

Charlie doesn't have a lovey, although we've been talking about giving him one. Not sure what it should be though.

Does your LO have a lovey? What is it, and how did you select it as your LO's lovey?
